About the Role
The staff pharmacist will be involved in providing all pharmacy services in cooperation with the pharmacy director, meeting patients' medication-related needs and providing clinical consultations.
Responsibilities
- Receiving, filling, recording, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Establishing and maintaining patient medication profiles, including allergy information and medication history.
- Screening patient profiles for drug and/or allergy interactions.
- Providing information on medications and possible side effects.
- Ordering and maintaining pharmacy inventory.
- Handling third-party billing and daily management reports.
- Checking pre-packaged products for use in other clinics.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the pharmacy director.
- Demonstrating knowledge and skill necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
- Demonstrating knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
- Identifying and categorizing patient age-specific needs.
Requirements
- Must meet the qualifications set by the Washington State Board of Pharmacy to hold a license as a registered pharmacist.
- Must have a current Washington State Pharmacists License.
- Must complete a pre-hire and annual TB screening.
- Annual influenza vaccine required (exceptions for approved medical or religious exemptions).
- Must be able to interact with coworkers, customers, and other health care entities in person and over the phone.
- Must be able to stand for long hours.
- Must be able to handle the stresses of dealing with the public in a courteous and professional manner.
- Must have an employment application on file with furnished references.
- Subject to background screening.
Skills
- English fluency
- Ability to learn Spanish
- Mathematical skills necessary for pharmacy practice
- Reasoning skills for safe and effective pharmacy services
