About the Role
WEIS is seeking a Customer Experience Manager passionate about teamwork and associate growth. This role oversees front-end operations and ensures excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Oversees all aspects of front-end department operations.
- Assumes complete responsibility for total store operations in the absence of store management.
- Promotes excellent customer relations by instilling positive customer-focused behavior.
- Greets customers, answers questions, and resolves concerns politely and professionally.
- Focuses on continuous improvement in all department areas.
- Enforces cash handling control and security measures to prevent losses.
- Follows and enforces all company policies and procedures related to Front End operations.
- Adheres to all company and state laws and regulations (Anti-Money Laundering, tobacco/alcohol sales, lottery, price accuracy, WIC, etc.).
- Oversees bookkeeping procedures.
- Assists cashiers with change, price checks, voids, and refunds.
- Conducts unannounced audits on cashiers.
- Assists store management in onboarding front-end sales associates.
- Trains associates to provide a fast, friendly, accurate, and efficient checkout experience.
- Implements and communicates new programs and procedures to associates.
- Recognizes and rewards associate performance.
- Participates in associate annual performance reviews.
- Utilizes the Learning Management System (LMS) for associate training.
- Updates associate availabilities, headcounts, and schedules using the auto-scheduler system.
- Controls supply costs while ensuring adequate inventory levels.
- Directs customer flow through the Front End to minimize wait times.
- Monitors breaks and lunches to ensure uninterrupted customer service.
- Oversees lot attendant service.
- Operates front-end scanning equipment and registers, performing all checkout procedures.
- Assists customer service with answering phone calls.
- Uses intercom for necessary announcements or pages.
- Maintains functionality of equipment, hardware, and software, reporting issues promptly.
- Communicates special promotions and sale items to cashiers.
- Generates sales through suggestive selling.
- Attends and participates in store's daily huddles.
- Maintains knowledge of weekly ads, marketing promotions, and store layout.
- Oversees safety and sanitation of the parking lot, porch, entrance/exit, and checkout area.
- Keeps cart corrals and parking lot clean and clear of carts.
- Responsible for general sanitation in the department.
- Follows cleaning schedules and department guidelines.
- Disposes of trash properly.
- Ensures smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and superiors.
- Continuously improves job performance.
- May assist with baling cardboard.
- May assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries.
- Responsible for utilization of all company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- May assist in other departments.
