About the Role
WEIS is seeking associates who are passionate about teamwork and community growth, offering respect, understanding, and appreciation.
Responsibilities
- Keeps the Grocery department well stocked, organized, and appealing to meet customer demands and maximize sales.
- Builds displays to drive incremental sales.
- Stocks and rotates merchandise to ensure freshness.
- Keeps product within easy customer reach.
- Stores excess merchandise according to backroom organization guidelines.
- Greets customers, answers questions, and helps resolve concerns promptly and professionally.
- Applies proper stocking techniques, ensures correct pricing and signage.
- May assist with receiving, unloading, and storing deliveries using power or hand jacks.
- Handles damaged or discontinued items according to company policy.
- Removes product that cannot be sold.
- Maintains general sanitation in the department, following cleaning schedules and guidelines.
- Follows cleaning schedules and department guidelines to ensure work areas, equipment, counters, and display cases are well maintained, clean, and meet health and OSHA requirements.
- Disposes of trash properly.
- Maintains productivity standards, work methods, and shrink control.
- Complies with security regulations and policies.
- Puts out stock at an acceptable rate.
- May assist with baling cardboard or other related duties.
- Ensures smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and supervisors.
- Continuously improves job performance.
- Utilizes all company-provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE).
- May assist in other departments.
