About the Role
FCM Japan is experiencing rapid growth, driven by global technology investments, a strong client base, and new multinational clients. This Finance Manager role is crucial to this expansion, offering a fast-track career opportunity within a global organization. The position involves exposure to all finance functions, including managing an offshore transactional finance team, regulatory filings, and business partnering with local and global management.
Responsibilities
- Manage all general accounting activities.
- Ensure accuracy of financial reporting and tax compliance.
- Supervise the outsourced accounting team to achieve targeted SLAs.
- Support the finance team in designing robust internal controls and processes.
- Perform ad-hoc business partnering for the Japan Leadership team.
- Maintain up-to-date general accounting records, including accruals, fixed assets, payroll & tax entries, customer invoicing, supplier payments & reconciliations.
- Ensure financial statements comply with local GAAPS and IFRS standards.
- Oversee transactional accounting activities (AR & AP) for complete and accurate reporting.
- Prepare tax reporting in compliance with Japanese requirements, acting as the primary contact for technical tax matters with the tax advisor.
- Lead the financial closing process and financial reporting to the group.
- Ensure all balance sheet and sub-ledger reconciliations are completed monthly.
- Monitor cash flow through appropriate controls and processes, including cash flow forecasting.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Japanese and English language skills.
- Accounting qualification (e.g. JICPA).
- Technical accounting knowledge.
- Analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills.
- Basic leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to design efficient processes and controls.
