About the Role

This role serves as a front-facing major gift officer in the Region, responsible for mission integration, philanthropy, and donor cultivation of individual philanthropists and family foundations capable of giving $10k-$50k within California.

Responsibilities

Support mission-centered, local donor cultivation events and prospect high impact donors for regional and national stewardship activities.
Partner with the Philanthropy Director and the Education, Services and Health Research department to communicate the Blood Cancer United mission, programs, resources, and priorities effectively.
Identify and qualify individual and foundation donor leads and manage a major gift portfolio of prospects capable of giving $10k-$50k+.
Create and implement a moves management plan for donors and prospects, including donor stewardship strategies and activities.
Develop a re-engagement strategy for lapsed major gift donors.
Lead monthly-quarterly region Philanthropy prospecting sessions to identify major gift leads.
Support donor cultivation events and other donor engagement activities within the Region.
Engage region donors and volunteer leaders capable of giving $10k-$50k+ for individual major giving.
Cultivate relationships with key prospects within the designated Region.
Maintain a working knowledge of the Blood Cancer United mission and programs to promote Organizational initiatives.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Collaborate with diverse groups internally and externally to achieve a common goal.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to make public presentations.
Local travel up to 30%.
Required to work occasional nights and weekends.
