About the Role

Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Building Maintenance Worker I is responsible for basic maintenance of the buildings and grounds (non-permit/licensed repairs); and acts as a backup for drivers and janitor.

Responsibilities

Perform janitorial duties such as cleaning debris and dust.
Act as a backup driver.
Ensure buildings have adequate lighting, heating, and ventilation.
Perform minor repairs and inspections of equipment, including painting, patching walls, and hanging shelves.
Operate machinery and equipment.
Move, transport, and arrange desks, files, and other office equipment during construction.
Perform other job duties as required by manager/supervisor.

Requirements

Basic knowledge in maintenance supplies, equipment, materials, and methods.
Ability to make minor repairs to buildings and equipment.
Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.
Basic knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions for equipment use.
Must be able to work any day of the week, depending on need.
Current and valid driver's license required with no violations within the last 5 years.
Ability to work in a group and independently.
Previous working experience preferred.
Must be able to fluently speak, read, and write English.
