About the Role
The Clinic Nurse will assist clinic providers with the examination, evaluation, and triage of research protocol participants. This role requires professional judgment in planning and providing care according to established standards and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform telephone triage assessments of patients on trial.
- Provide patient education regarding clinical trial participation, chemotherapy/immunotherapy/investigational agent administration, and potential side effects.
- Enter patient history into the Electronic Medical Record.
- Perform basic patient assessments including physical exam, vital signs, and ECGs.
- Use nursing assessment skills to observe participant well-being and take appropriate action.
- Provide patients with visit information.
- Ensure participant dignity, health, safety, and welfare are prioritized.
- Coordinate patient care with internal and external staff.
- Respond to emergency situations based on nursing protocols.
- Provide coverage for Infusion Nurse as directed by management.
- Prepare for clinic day by ensuring necessary supplies and results are available.
- Assist with prescription refills.
- Assist with entry and completion of quality standards for EHR/PQRS.
- Complete preauthorization forms for medications.
- Assist in the referral process.
- Communicate and interact with peers and other departments positively.
- Interact effectively with patients/family members, demonstrating sensitivity to cultural diversity, age-specific needs, and confidentiality.
- Work with physicians to ensure necessary labs and assessments are performed and results are available.
- Work with physicians to ensure orders are processed.
- Serve as a team member by expanding responsibilities as directed by management to facilitate optimal workflow.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Licensed Registered Nurse in practicing state.
- 1-year oncology experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, an AHA (American Heart Association) certificate.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office, including Teams, Excel, Outlook and Word.

Salary/Compensations
- $62/hr - $67/hr
- Annual bonus of up to 10% of base earnings
