About the Role
Ducks Unlimited, Inc. (DU) is seeking a senior-level professional engineer and project manager to support wetland restoration efforts in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. This role offers high job satisfaction for those interested in work that benefits wildlife and communities, joining a motivated conservation team.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of proposal scope of work and budgets in coordination with management and biological staff.
- Interpretation, selection, adaptation, and application of engineering, surveying, and construction management principles.
- Completion of engineering designs, project plans, technical specifications, cost estimates, reports, and permit application documents for nature-based features, dam rehabilitation, and wetland/riparian restoration.
- Managing multiple projects, including reviewing work, prioritizing tasks, and maintaining schedules and budgets.
- Coordination with internal and external stakeholders and representation of engineering designs to multidisciplinary teams.
- Conducting field work and inspections, and performing construction management oversight.
- Reviewing contracts, ensuring compliance, and coordinating with consultants and contractors.
- Mentoring and/or supervising engineering staff and delegating tasks.
Requirements
- B.S. in Civil Engineering or equivalent from an EAC/ABET accredited program.
- Registered professional engineer with the ability to obtain registrations in assigned states.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil, water resources or related engineering design.
- Minimum of 3 years of project management experience.
- Supervisory experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work in close team-based relationships.
- Valid driver's license in good standing.
- If working remote/from a home office, must possess reliable transportation and carry appropriate insurance.
