About the Role
Join United's Technical Operations team as a Security Officer, ensuring the safety and security of our aircraft, facilities, and personnel. This role is crucial for maintaining our fleet's readiness and supporting our customers' travel needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide company-required guarding and protection of gates, entrances, buildings, facilities, and other designated posts.
- Act as a First Responder in emergency situations.
- Inspect and record parcels and containers being carried on or off premises by employees and non-employees.
- Guard or inspect property, instruments, facilities, or vehicles on Company premises.
- Patrol designated areas and perform notification rounds by turning keys in receptacles.
- Protect against and report acts of sabotage, destruction, damage, or theft of property or facilities, or dangerous conditions.
- Take necessary safeguarding steps and assist in apprehending offenders when practicable.
- Perform other duties involving internal security and premises protection, potentially including staffing control centers.
- Guide and assist emergency medical and/or fire department personnel to areas of need.
- Train other employees in the Security Officer classification after completing the probationary period.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED/equivalent.
- A valid security guard registration (Guard Card).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license.
- Acceptable driving record.
- Must be able to work during day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Mandatory overtime may be required based on operational need.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all temperatures and weather conditions.
- Must pass an FAA background check clearance.
