About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Portfolio Manager, GitHub Workplace, with operational expertise and sound judgment to lead operations from our San Francisco office. This role is a critical partner to both the Microsoft and GitHub real estate portfolios, employees, and programs, overseeing daily operations, managing vendors, and leading onsite programs that embody company values and support our communities. This is an opportunity to shape company culture, enhance office environments, and improve the employee and developer experience.
Responsibilities
- Oversee delivery of real estate and facilities management services, leveraging third-party vendors for timely, cost-effective, and high-quality outcomes.
- Manage Microsoft and GitHub relationships and processes for portfolio and vendor management.
- Serve as the main point of contact for property management relations, emergency crisis management, and property-related escalations.
- Build, partner on, and execute an onsite events program to engage customers and employees.
- Partner closely with the Physical Security team to ensure alignment on Workplace Experience safety, policies, and goals.
- Manage service levels, directing and coordinating maintenance, facilities, and amenities.
- Communicate program and policy information with regular updates to the team and employees.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards, procedures, and legal regulations.
- Enhance relationships as a building liaison, lead tours, and develop relationships with landlords, customers, and internal teams.
- Create and manage office policies and procedures, prioritizing culture, safety, sustainability, and wellness.
- Nurture company culture and handle employee and community requests with high customer service standards.
- Own and track portfolio or office-related invoices, expense reporting, utilization metrics, and annual operational spend.
- Collaborate with the team to prepare an annual budget, schedule expenditures, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Real Estate, Project Management, or related field, AND 3+ years relevant experience, OR 5+ years equivalent experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Real Estate, Project Management, or related field AND 5+ years portfolio management, real estate, or office management experience, OR 7+ years equivalent experience.
- Educational and/or professional background in Hospitality AND 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience in responsibly managing finances, expenses, invoices, and purchase orders.
- Experience with developing and maintaining a positive employee experience.
- Experience successfully managing, leading, or guiding a team of vendors and onsite coordinators.
- Basic and local knowledge of OSHA, EH+S, FDA and other standards and regulations.
- Solid attention to detail, organizational skills, and judgment capabilities.
- Ability to demonstrate solid collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate across diverse teams and communicate plans and updates clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Drive solutions and lead effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

- USD $97,600 - $188,400 per year (U.S. range)
- USD $125,000 - $206,400 per year (San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area range)
