About the Role
Burly Boyz Moving & Storage is seeking experienced commercial drivers to operate trucks and lead moving crews in Toronto. This role requires strong leadership and responsibility for customer satisfaction and job outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Operate 3, 5 and 7-ton straight trucks safely in residential and urban Toronto and the GTA, with occasional out-of-town and long-distance runs
- Complete daily pre-trip inspections, report defects, and maintain accurate E-logs (Samsara)
- Lead the crew on site, assigning work, setting the pace, training helpers, and ensuring job completion
- Protect customer's home and goods through padding, wrapping, floor protection, and truck loading/securing
- Perform physical lifting of furniture and boxes, including occasional lifts up to 100 lbs and navigating stairs
- Calculate customer bills, write invoices, collect payments, and address customer questions and problems
- Manage customer interactions and ensure a positive experience from start to finish
Requirements
- Valid Ontario Class DZ or AZ license, held for 3+ years
- Class D license without Z endorsement considered if Z can be obtained before start date
- Minimum 3 years paid commercial driving experience on 5-tonne or larger trucks
- Clean abstract: fewer than 3 infractions, no at-fault collisions in 3 years, no suspensions or impaired charges
- Proven leadership experience on a crew or job site
- High standards for damage-free work, punctuality, accurate paperwork, and customer care
- Clear written and spoken English
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Ability to start early and maintain a flexible schedule
- Current MTO driver's abstract required before hire
- Willingness to undergo a hands-on skills and fitness evaluation
