About the Role
LightSpeed Japan Studio is a game development studio dedicated to crafting original AAA action game titles for global audiences. Led by industry veteran Hideaki Itsuno, the studio operates across two locations in Tokyo and Osaka. The studio offers a flexible and inclusive work environment and actively welcomes game creators who are full of talent and passion for pushing the boundaries of game development.
Responsibilities
- Design and produce sound effects, environmental sounds, background music, and dialogue based on the game's worldview and directorial intent.
- Implement, adjust, and debug game sounds using Wwise and Unreal Engine.
- Build and adjust sound playback logic using Unreal Engine's Blueprint.
- Design interactive audio that matches gameplay and various directorial scenes.
- Order, direct, and manage quality for external sound creators, production companies, and recording studios.
- Manage schedules, tasks, and budgets for overall sound production, including external outsourcing.
- Collaborate with and adjust specifications with related departments such as planning, engineering, animation, and scenario.
- Attend and direct recording sessions for dialogue, music, etc.
- Verify operation on actual console hardware and optimize considering memory and CPU load.
- Establish and improve sound asset management rules, audio pipelines, and production workflows.
- Adjust and manage overall game sound quality, including mixing and mastering.
Requirements
- Practical experience implementing game sound using Wwise.
- Practical experience implementing game sound using Unreal Engine.
- Experience managing and directing contractors (external sound creators/studios).
- Experience managing schedules, tasks, and (if necessary) budgets.
- Ability to communicate smoothly in Japanese.
