About the Role
The Nido Server will ensure all guests receive warm, luxury service and prepare/serve drinks to The Loren's hospitality standards.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests and take food and drink orders.
- Serve orders and accommodate special needs or requests.
- Maintain attentiveness to customers and exceed service standards.
- Complete restocking and cleaning duties, including opening and closing side work.
- Memorize menu items, recipes, and daily specials to answer questions and make recommendations.
- Maintain cleanliness standards in the pool deck, wait station, and kitchen service area.
- Control guest checks by following established procedures and documenting information accurately.
- Receive proper payment from guests and ensure accuracy of checks and payment methods.
- Attend all pre-meal and departmental meetings.
- Respond to customer inquiries and comments promptly and knowledgeably.
- Present a clean and professional appearance at all times.
- Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor.
- Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by leadership.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- TABC Certification.
- Food Handler Certification.
- 1+ year of restaurant service experience.
- Hotel luxury experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of customer service principles, food server functions, and restaurant/kitchen operations.
- Knowledge of standard cash-handling procedures.
- Fluent in oral and written English.
- Vision ability to clearly see detailed guest checks, computer printouts, written instructions, and observe the entire restaurant in dimly lit conditions.
- Manual coordination to punch buttons, grasp items, and balance/carry trays.
- Highly organized with the ability to pay attention to minute written and verbal details, especially when performing multiple tasks.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs, including serving trays, carts, tables, chairs, and small equipment up to 75% of the time.
- Ability to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle, and finger throughout the shift.
- Full range of mobility and ability to travel up to 300 feet regularly throughout the shift.
- Ability to stand continuously during preparation, service hours, or expediting.
- Moderate hearing to hear customers, supervisors, and communicate with staff.
- Excellent vision to ensure product is prepared appropriately.
- Moderate comprehension and literacy to read records and special requests.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to use tact and understanding when dealing with customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations.
