About the Role
Valkai is accelerating drug and device development timelines using AI. AI Strategists lead deployments, configure AI tools, and serve as strategic partners to clients. This Lead role involves owning a portfolio of accounts, managing a team, and driving commercial success.
Responsibilities
- Run the pod as a business, setting strategy and account plans for a portfolio of Pharma and medical device customers.
- Manage team staffing, account sequencing, and commitment setting, ensuring accountability for adoption, value delivery, renewals, and expansion.
- Hire, manage, and develop a team of AI Strategists, setting and coaching to high standards for deployment and customer leadership.
- Serve as the senior counterpart to customer sponsors and executives, shaping value propositions and leading conversations to secure enterprise-wide agreements.
- Partner with Sales on the commercial motion.
- Lead high-stakes deployments by framing problems, setting requirements and success criteria, and reviewing deliverables.
- Guide customers on governance, validation, change management, and compliance for AI deployments in regulated environments.
- Aggregate insights from the pod into requirements for Product and Engineering, representing customer needs in roadmap decisions.
- Develop repeatable deployment playbooks, account rituals, and onboarding processes for new Strategists.
Requirements

- Demonstrate accountability for outcomes, not just recommendations.
- Possess thoughtful problem-solving skills, breaking down unstructured challenges into concrete plans.
- Weigh business impact against technical feasibility across a portfolio of accounts.
- Have experience leading teams on high-stakes client work, setting high standards, providing direct feedback, and developing team members.
- Be credible with VP and C-suite sponsors at large enterprises.
- Be comfortable leading difficult conversations and translating AI capabilities into defensible business value.
- Be adaptable and learn new AI capabilities quickly, remaining open to better solutions.
- Exhibit grit and drive customer success and adoption.
