About the Role

This position is responsible for the analysis, design, testing, development, and maintenance of best-in-class software experiences. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who can collaborate effectively within a team and across the organization, taking ownership of software artifacts and adhering to U.S. Bank standards to ensure minimal impact on the customer experience. Familiarity with the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles is essential.

Responsibilities

Designing, developing, testing, operating, and maintaining products
Taking full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code
Creating optimal designs adhering to architectural best practices, considering scalability, reliability, and performance
Performing analysis on failures, proposing design changes, and encouraging operational improvements
Making sound design/coding decisions with a focus on customer experience
Incorporating feedback from code reviews to meet standards
Conducting code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance
Ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices
Exhibiting a relentless focus on software reliability engineering standards
Embracing emerging technology opportunities and contributing to best practices for technology transformation
Contributing to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Critically reviewing tasks, ensuring appropriate prioritization and sizing for incremental delivery, and anticipating/communicating blockers and delays

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
Five to six years of relevant experience
Experience leading development of modern web applications
Strong backend + ML systems experience
GenAI exposure
ML platform engineering experience
Strong AI/ML understanding (incl. embeddings)
Leadership skills including mentoring and coaching engineers
Ability to collaborate with partner engineering teams
Architecting and implementing high-performing software applications
Responsible for application performance, complex APIs and integration across multiple applications
Work cross-functionally with Product, Design, and other partner teams
Expertise in agile development methodologies
Strong analytical skills and ability to review code
Must be able to comply with U.S. Bank policies and procedures including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and related workplace conduct and safety policies
