About the Role
Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Geologist in our Syracuse, NY office. The position will help grow our contaminated site assessment and remediation practices while contributing to challenging environmental projects including the financial and technical evaluation, design, permitting, and construction stages.
Responsibilities
- Develop site investigation, remediation, and monitoring strategies and plans for contaminated sites.
- Manage tasks and projects, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting, schedule adherence, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability.
- Manage and mentor junior staff and subcontractors.
- Develop work plans, evaluate environmental data, and prepare reports.
- Review and manage written document production.
- Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties.
- Conduct and oversee fieldwork including multi-media environmental sampling, sediment sampling and characterization, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction.
- Direct multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Support lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring.
- Broaden our reputation via publishing and attending prominent industry conferences.
- Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, geology, or related field.
- At least 8 years of direct environmental consulting experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.
- Regular fieldwork and overnight travel.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel.
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
