About the Role
The Procurement Specialist collaborates with Procurement Managers on various projects including RFXs, contract management reviews, and other supply chain initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Engages stakeholders to understand business requirements
- Develops and recommends strategic plans for Manager review
- Implements strategic plans
- Assists in the development and recommendation of sourcing strategies that maximize value and mitigate risks
- Assists with the implementation of the sourcing strategy
- Identifies cost improvement opportunities for assessment
- Achieves improvements in operational efficiencies and cost savings
- Supports the execution of end-to-end competitive bid process for strategic plans
- Develops and maintains effective relationships with suppliers
- Develops, implements, amends and monitors supplier contractual agreements
- Maintains in-depth and current category knowledge, strategic sourcing best practices, and industry trends
- Provides category and strategic sourcing subject matter expertise
- Reviews and approves vendor set up requests and vendor information changes
- Performs Anti-Bribery and Corruption due diligence
- Reviews requests and processes purchase orders
- Prepares, sends, and files Purchase Orders daily meeting quality standards
- Responsible for daily maintenance of existing Purchase Orders
- Utilizes standard templates for all strategic sourcing activity
- Ensures adherence to Company Policies, Processes and Work Instructions
- Supports Procurement team members as required
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements
- 5-10 years of relevant work experience
- Knowledge of strategic sourcing requirements and practices
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to assist in the development and execution of supplier contract agreements
- Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
- Computer proficiency in MS Office applications
- Ability to quickly learn proprietary databases
- Ability to build and manage relationships with various stakeholders
- Working knowledge and experience in own discipline
- Continues to build knowledge of the organization, processes and customers
- Uses prescribed guidelines or policies to analyze and resolve problems
- Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction
- High degree of business ethics and accountability
- High degree of client service orientation
- Possesses a team spirit and strong collaboration
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Tenacity to overcome challenges to deliver on commitments
- Good English communication skills both verbal and written
- Facilities Management/Property Management experience is an asset
- Partial or full completion of Supply Chain Management Professional Designation from Purchasing Management Association of Canada, or equivalent, is an asset
