About the Role
Deliver services and advocacy for families enrolled in our Head Start program, supporting family engagement, school readiness goals, and full enrollment.
Responsibilities
- Recruit and enroll families through events and interviews.
- Conduct eligibility documentation.
- Set strength-based goals with families.
- Perform required home visits (minimum 3x/year).
- Provide referrals and follow-up.
- Conduct parent orientations and workshops.
- Support Parent Committee/Policy Council.
- Plan for transitions.
- Maintain accurate GoEngage documentation.
- Check messages and review GoEngage notes for follow-up.
- Collect eligibility paperwork.
- Collaborate with Center Director and service staff on family needs.
- Prepare materials for parent workshops.
- Assist families with community referrals.
- Plan for recruitment events.
- Provide brief classroom coverage on some days.
- Document activities and plan future contacts.
Requirements
- Possess a valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs.
- Flexibility for occasional nights and weekends.
- If degree is in another discipline, complete a related credential within 18 months.
