About the Role
This position works on a clinical operations team, providing clinical support to providers and ensuring patients have a safe and positive experience.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with clinical leadership to ensure smooth patient flow in operational areas.
- Perform clinical duties in all areas including Express, Cast Room, and pods.
- Apply and remove casts, sutures, staples, and braces.
- Provide wound care and patient education.
- Respond to triages as needed or assigned.
- Room patients, take vitals and history, and update electronic medical charts.
- Update and maintain patient medical records, including visit details, insurance, and contact information.
- Service patients after visits with appropriate paperwork, schedule follow-up appointments, send out medical records as requested, and answer patient inquiries.
- Maintain exam rooms to appropriate regulatory standards.
- Audit new patient charts.
- Replenish exam room and clinical supplies, including office supplies for the designated area.
- Train others as needed or directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Requirements
- Valid NYS LPN License or ATC BOC certification.
- 2+ years of experience in a high-volume medical office rooming patients is preferred, but not required.
- Experience in wound care and casting is highly preferred.
- EMR knowledge is required; MEDENT is preferred.
- Manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Corrected vision and hearing within normal range to observe and communicate with patients, providers, and staff.
- Frequent reaching, stooping, squatting, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
- Extensive standing and walking required.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Requires full range of body motion including the ability to position and move patients.
- Work environment may involve some exposure to hazards/physical risk.
