About the Role

Ensure accurate and timely entry and reporting of financial data, manage accounts receivable, subcontractor payments, payroll processing, equipment time tracking, accounts payable, and support month-end close activities. Collaborate with management and project teams to guarantee data accuracy, timeliness, and completeness. This role requires a motivated individual committed to continuous learning, growth, and career development.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage effective project cost control systems
  • Interpret and communicate contractual and commercial terms
  • Deliver accurate cost reporting and strategic financial insights to leadership
  • Support collective agreement development and execution
  • Coordinate invoicing documentation, including statutory declarations and compliance certificates
  • Prepare and submit LEM reports, progress billings, invoices, and holdback releases
  • Validate third-party invoices and reconcile electronic billing with client systems
  • Monitor equipment usage, rental agreements, subcontractors, and ensure contractual compliance
  • Support project managers with change orders, payroll coordination, payment resolution, and month-end journal entries

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an operational cost accounting role
  • Experience within commercial construction, Telecom or a related industry is preferred
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards or similar large ERP is preferred
  • Working knowledge of construction methods
  • Financial acumen regarding equipment utilization, rates, equipment capital decisions, and profitability analysis
  • Working knowledge of construction accounting principles
  • Working knowledge of construction software systems
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • All applicants must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States
