About the Role
The Central Scheduling Access Care Representative (ACR) at United Health Services (UHS) facilitates patient care by managing scheduling, registration, and insurance verification. This role involves direct patient interaction, supporting timely access to care, and ensuring accurate front-end revenue cycle processes.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient registration, appointment scheduling, and insurance verification.
- Deliver courteous and professional service to patients and families via phone, electronic, and in-person interactions.
- Collect, review, and enter accurate demographic and insurance information for billing and account processing.
- Respond to patient questions while protecting privacy and confidentiality.
- Monitor patient wait times and collaborate with team members to communicate delays and improve patient flow.
- Contribute to patient experience, access to services, and front-end revenue cycle accuracy.
- Exercise judgment within established procedures for scheduling, registration, and insurance issues.
- Collaborate with peers and leaders to resolve issues affecting service quality and operational efficiency.
- Support operational needs through occasional travel between organizational locations and operation of a system-owned vehicle, maintaining eligibility for driving requirements.
- Adhere to HIPAA and organizational privacy standards.
- Follow regulatory, billing, and financial compliance requirements.
- Complete required training, competencies, and performance improvement activities.
- Work and communicate with a respectful, problem-solving approach.
- Safeguard sensitive data by following established security policies and procedures.
- Support cybersecurity and data protection requirements by coordinating vendor risk assessments and monitoring third-party compliance.
- Maintain awareness of supplies and coordinate restocking.

- Execute responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of customer/patient-facing experience directly interacting and communicating with the public.
- NAHAM Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) certification (Preferred).
- Driver License (Preferred).
- Up to 1 year of direct experience performing similar duties (Preferred).
- Up to 1 year of technical/systems experience using specialized tools, software, or equipment (Preferred).
- Up to 1 year of healthcare experience (Preferred).
