About the Role
As a Product Designer at 7shifts, you will build solutions that restaurants need, owning the full design process from customer research to production iteration. You will collaborate with a squad of PM, EM, and engineers to transform real problems into shipped experiences that improve restaurant operations.
Responsibilities
- Research by talking to operators, managers, and teams to identify pain points and guide design decisions.
- Prototype and test ideas with customers early to validate concepts.
- Own the design process, partnering with Product and Engineers through implementation to ensure successful shipping.
- Develop deep expertise in your product area to identify unmet customer needs and opportunities.
- Utilize AI across the design process, including research synthesis, concept generation, and pattern refinement.
- Contribute to the design system by sharing patterns and learnings to improve team efficiency.
- Participate in design reviews, share workflows, and provide critique to elevate the team's work.
- Ship features frequently, balancing speed with quality and iterating based on customer usage.
Requirements
- 3+ years as a product designer on cross-functional teams, ideally in SaaS.
- Demonstrated experience in research, ideation, prototyping, testing, and iteration.
- Active use of AI across work, with the ability to explain its impact on the design process.
- Proficiency in moving from rough sketches to high-fidelity designs in Figma and Claude.
- Ability to articulate design decisions clearly and constructively.
- A portfolio showcasing problem-solving process and thinking, not just final output.
