About the Role
Improve patient health through an innovative, patient-focused culture dedicated to making a difference in the communities served.
Responsibilities
- Provide registration support to facilitate patient flow and non-clinical administrative support for center activities under the supervision of the Clinical Care Coordinator (C3).
- Register direct admission and hospital transfer patients for bed placement and active patient account creation.
- Monitor Intake Logistics for Registration requests and activities.
- Serve as a registration expert, troubleshooting and correcting registration oversights.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility for direct admits and facility transfers, obtaining authorization if necessary.
- Assist C3s with referrals, and fax/photocopy medical record information for post-acute patient placement.
- Update/correct insurance information and notify appropriate departments for accurate financial data.
- Provide administrative support to facility C3s.
- Manage registration for discharge-readmit and interrupted stay cases.
- Update bedded patient status (e.g., Observation to Inpatient).
- Support Hub C3 as needed, including bed placement and registration.
- Use data collection tools to reflect activities.
- Update bed requests in Care Logistics software.
- Collect patient insurance authorization for medications and discharge needs.
- Notify payers of patient admission and level of care.
- Assist in submitting medical information to payers and community care providers.
- Receive referrals from Unit C3 for discharge planning assistance.
- Follow up with post-acute care facilities on bed holds.
- Actively communicate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Communicate potential admissions to facilitate system-wide planning.
- Contact referral destinations to notify of early alert and final alert.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- 2 years of experience in regulatory programs, administrative/secretarial in a professional setting, or patient scheduling/registration required.
- Associate degree or higher will waive the experience requirement.
- Constant typing/clerical/dexterity, seeing/monitor/Computer use.
- Occasional balancing, climbing, crouching, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, stooping, tactical sense, talking, visual acuity (color, depth, perception), walking, fit testing, bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure, burns.
- Occasional travel may be required.
