About the Role
CASES' youth programs aim to help New York City's systems-impacted young people, aged 13-24, lead productive lives through individualized case management, evidence-based programming, and group activities. This program provides continued education support, emotional support, career development goals, and life skills development for middle- and high-school aged youth and young adults.
Responsibilities
- Build relationships with up to 10-15 young people, employing creative and persistent engagement strategies.
- Collaborate with key adults in a young person's life, including agency staff, foster parents, and school personnel, to support their goals.
- Help young people explore interests and expose them to relevant opportunities.
- Work 1:1 with young people to develop individualized academic and career development goals and track measurable steps.
- Connect young people to quality schools, programs, resources, and opportunities aligned with their goals.
- Support young people's persistence in academic/career settings, navigate challenges, celebrate successes, and plan next steps.
- Connect young people to peer group supports and foster positive relationships.
- Track contacts, goals, and progress using an online platform weekly.
- Participate in weekly staff meetings.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience working with young people; OR
- An Associate or other accredited vocational degree, and 3+ years of experience working with young people; OR
- A “credible messenger” (with background in foster care, criminal legal system, or other systems-involvement), with some post-secondary experience and 4+ years of experience working with young people in a professional, paid role.
- Ability to work some evening and weekend hours.
- Ability to participate in in-person and virtual Teams meetings.
- Ability to meet youth in their homes and schools.
- Ability to accompany youth to appointments and outings.
- Ability to travel across NYC boroughs in one work day.

Location
- Primarily Manhattan and the Bronx, and across NYC
- In-office reporting at 4 West 125th Street
- Travel across CASES offices expected for trainings and meetings
