Responsibilities
- Facilitate on the job training and instruction for team members on the correct use of tools and equipment to ensure proper safety and operating procedures are followed.
- Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
- Set up machine.
- Use lowboy to mount full rolls onto machine.
- Observe machine operation to detect material defects or machine malfunction.
- Measure material dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
- Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling/greasing machines and changing female knives.
- Prepare required paperwork, including daily production reports, SPC charting, roll tickets and inventory tags.
- Complete work orders when necessary.
- Actively participate in safety programs and make safety observations.
- Follow plant safety rules.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- May require manual lifting not to exceed 50 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
