About the Role

Mercedes-Benz of Austin is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join their team. The role is crucial in securing sales and ensuring vehicle delivery while protecting gross profit and establishing strong lender relations.

Responsibilities

  • Protects gross profit by arranging financing that does not impact selling margins.
  • Establishes lender relations to strengthen customer loyalty.
  • Generates additional income through the sale of credit insurance, vehicle service contracts, GAP coverage, and maintenance plans.
  • Maintains control of all sales paperwork until submission to the general office.
  • Responsible for all vehicle sale paperwork, including customer signatures, payoff, and insurance information.
  • Converts cash deals to finance.
  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with finance sources, including the manufacturer.
  • Processes finance and lease deals accurately and fairly through financial sources to secure approval.
  • Conducts business ethically and professionally.
  • Processes all federal, state, and dealer paperwork related to vehicle transactions.
  • Understands and complies with federal, state, and local regulations affecting vehicle and finance departments.
  • Completes necessary paperwork for vehicle sales and leases in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Verifies all paperwork for correct title, lien information, taxes, etc., before forwarding to accounting.
  • Acquires and maintains a current state insurance license and completes continuing credit insurance education.
  • Provides customers with a complete explanation of manufacturer and dealership service procedures and policies.
  • Manages the alternative finance source program to ensure multiple sources are available.
  • Seeks insurance companies for insurance paper and maintains insurance files.
  • Sets up and monitors a program to ensure 100% turnover to the finance department.
  • Provides sales staff and managers with continuous updates on finance and lease programs.
  • Trains sales staff on the benefits of financing, insurance, and extended service programs.
  • Works with sales managers to ensure reasonable profit on every sale.
  • Coordinates finance forecasting with sales department forecasting for desired penetration and income levels.
  • Ensures all contracts are funded in a timely manner.
  • Manages and reviews contracts in transit daily.
  • Answers customer calls regarding cancellations and trade-ins.
  • Responds to lender calls regarding delayed funding.
  • Addresses accounting calls related to chargebacks and deal adjustments.
  • Responsible for collecting, verifying, and receipting all down payments.
  • Responsible for issuing and tracking all new license plates and transfers.
  • Conducts all regulatory checks, including OFAC, red flags, and fraud prevention.
  • Ensures collection of all finance and insurance fees.
  • Attends manager meetings.
  • Handles all rate quotations.
  • Develops and monitors customer interaction guidelines to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a full-time automotive finance manager.
  • Highline experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proven track record as a top-performing finance manager.
  • Prior experience and familiarity with CDK, dealertrack, CUDL, Darwin, and E-contracting.
  • Maintains an adequate and current supply of all required contracts and paperwork.
  • Maintains a professional appearance.
  • Maintains a clean and professional work environment.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license for at least 1 year.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possesses product knowledge, professionalism, and empathy.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for team-building.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Must be willing to work Monday - Friday between 8:30 AM and 9:00 PM.
  • Must be willing to work Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
