About the Role

As a Strategic/Development Industrial Engineer, you will design and implement solutions to drive manufacturing efficiency and long-term capacity planning. By analyzing complex business data, developing production models, and optimizing equipment and facility layouts, you will empower Intel to deliver world-class technologies while reducing costs and improving operational performance. Your work will directly contribute to Intel's ability to innovate and meet the demands of a dynamic global market.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute space, capacity, and capital strategies for APTM WPM factories to balance near-term execution and long-range planning through scenario-based tradeoff analysis.
  • Model WPM capacity across specific manufacturing segments, incorporating demand forecasts, tool roadmaps, and customer scenarios and demand-capacity tradeoffs to inform factory response options.
  • Perform SnOP demand and capacity analysis evaluating gaps, constraints, and responses scenarios including one or more APTM manufacturing segments and translate insights into clear executive-ready recommendations on capacity actions, capital timing, and tradeoffs.
  • Analyze tradeoffs between space, capacity, throughput, and CapEx to optimize factory economics and return on invested capital (ROIC), framing implications for decision timing and risk.
  • Integrate capacity strategies across APTM organizations, Technology Development (TD), Manufacturing, Foundry Business Group (FBG), Foundry Construction and Sourcing, Foundry Customer Strategic Planning, and Finance to ensure alignment and executable decision timing.
  • Collect, benchmark, and synthesize internal and external data to develop structured insights and recommendations for senior and executive leadership.
  • Own and develop new planning or modeling capability within the organization, driving rapid maturity, adoption, and sustained impact.
  • Communicate clearly under tight timelines and incomplete information, making sound assumptions when data is unavailable and upleveling insights to influence outcomes across a diverse cross-functional stakeholder set.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or similar degree and 4+ years of experience OR Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or similar degree and 3+ years of experience OR PhD in Industrial Engineering or similar.
  • 2+ years' experience in Foundry manufacturing systems design, supply chain, capacity planning, or operations research.
  • 1+ years of experience with statistical analysis tools.
  • 1+ years of experience with analytics and data modeling capabilities using Excel.
  • 1+ years' experience with project management; experience managing multiple priorities in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
  • Master's degree or PhD in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience implementing Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies for large-scale process improvements.
  • Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools or programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or Power BI.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with proven ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
  • Previous experience in semiconductor manufacturing or technology-related industries.
