About the Role

This entry-level role is designed for individuals eager to learn the commercial aspects of the music business. You will work directly with artist management and label leadership, gaining insights into independent release performance and building foundational relationships with DSP partners and artist-facing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain the DSP pitch calendar for upcoming releases.
  • Assemble release assets, artist context, and performance data for editorial submissions.
  • Draft supporting pitch copy in partnership with the Commerce lead.
  • Track playlist adds, editorial placements, and store features across all DSP partners.
  • Maintain a shared record of DSP placements for the Commerce and Artist Marketing teams.
  • Pull and format weekly and post-release performance reporting from DSP partner portals.
  • Flag trends, wins, and misses in performance reporting to the Commerce lead.
  • Support partner meetings and DSP check-ins by building agendas and one-sheets.
  • Take thorough notes and drive follow-up items to completion for partner meetings.
  • Maintain a monthly roundup of DSP product changes, new pitch tools, and editorial priorities.
  • Coordinate physical product timelines for vinyl, CD, and special collector formats.
  • Track manufacturing milestones, test pressings, approvals, and in-stock dates against release dates.
  • Support inventory and retail distribution tracking.
  • Surface stock, reorder, and sell-through issues to the Commerce lead and partners.
  • Coordinate the Music team’s recurring meetings, including agenda and deck preparation.
  • Own notes and follow-up for Music team meetings.
  • Provide administrative support to the Artist Management team for high-priority artists.
  • Assist with payment requests, contracting workflow, and travel coordination for Artist Management.
  • Keep Brand Partnerships and Sync current on artist marketing activity.
  • Support the planning and execution of UnitedMasters label events and partner presentations.
  • Set up vendors, process invoices, and keep budget trackers current for DSP campaigns and physical product runs.
  • Partner with Artist Marketing, Creative, and Artist Relations to align commerce moments with release and campaign plans.
  • Organize, catalog, and distribute release assets and metadata.

Requirements

  • Genuine fan of music with curiosity about release performance.
  • Entry-level familiarity with the music streaming landscape and DSP programming.
  • Comfortable in DSP partner portals (Spotify for Artists, Apple Music for Artists, Amazon Music for Artists) or able to learn quickly.
  • Solid working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets, including building trackers, using basic formulas, and formatting data.
  • Experience with project management tools or aptitude for organizing deadlines.
  • Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented with discipline for managing critical dates.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including persuasive pitch writing.
  • Strong meeting craft: ability to build agendas, capture key information, and chase follow-ups.
  • Comfort with high-touch administrative work for senior stakeholders and top artists.
  • Discretion and sound judgment regarding artist contracts, payments, travel, and leadership conversations.
  • Self-starter capable of owning recurring tasks independently.
  • Ability to take direction from multiple stakeholders and prioritize conflicting deadlines.
  • Team player known for resourcefulness and a positive attitude.
  • Interest in the operational and commercial mechanics of music releases.
