About the Role

The Clean Energy Program Manager will assist in all aspects of gas and electric program strategy, operations, analysis, and reporting for active Non-Pipeline Alternatives (NPA). This includes performing cost/benefit analysis, contract negotiation, and managing program financial budgets. The role involves providing stakeholders with information on system needs to direct customer solutions for maximum benefit.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a proactive, customer-centric culture that fosters trust and confidence.
  • Support the development and evaluation of Non-Pipeline Alternatives (NPA) by engaging market participants and assessing innovative solutions.
  • Engage with state regulators and support reporting requirements for NPA and electrification programs.
  • Assist in the development of procurement mechanisms (RFPs, RFIs, etc.) to contract with third-party vendors.
  • Evaluate project costs, benefits, and risks, and coordinate with relevant teams.
  • Manage communications with customers, vendors, stakeholders, and agencies, providing performance reporting.
  • Lead special projects and program initiatives focused on gas and electric system needs.
  • Establish processes, policies, and procedures to integrate Demand Side Management (DSM) solutions.
  • Collaborate with various teams to address market and technology gaps and implement outreach strategies.
  • Coordinate information flow across departments and stakeholders, manage project delivery processes, and perform other related duties.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to drive results by collaborating with stakeholders to build consensus.
  • Ability to effectively interact with customers, support staff, and various levels of management, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of utility operations and policies.
  • Ability to perform independent, rigorous research and contribute in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
  • Well organized, detail oriented, and flexible to handle multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and demonstrated analytical data management skills.
  • Must have a Driver's License.
  • Assigned a System Emergency Assignment and expected to work non-business hours during emergencies.
  • Able and willing to travel within Company service territory and to other CECONY/O&R locations, as needed.
  • Able and willing to occasionally travel to regulatory and industry meetings as required.

  • Working knowledge of regulatory processes
  • Knowledge of business operations in engineering and design, construction, purchasing, and cost control
  • Experience in the natural gas industry
  • Experience with demand-side management, energy efficiency, distributed energy resources (DERs)
  • Familiarity with New York State's Reforming Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA), Non-Wires Solutions, Non-Pipeline Solutions, Electrification, and related utility initiatives
