About the Role
Anthropic is building data center campuses at a rapid pace, requiring dedicated security oversight throughout the entire lifecycle from design to operational handover. As Lead for Data Center Security Delivery, you will be the single point of accountability for ensuring the physical security, systems, and operational readiness of each campus before it goes live. This is a hands-on delivery role focused on managing the day-to-day complexities of active construction sites, allowing the core Data Center Security Engineering (DCSE) team to focus on steady-state operations.
Responsibilities
- Own the security delivery program across every Anthropic campus under construction, from groundbreaking to handover.
- Manage construction-phase security, including temporary site security, contractor vetting, access control, and protection of installed equipment.
- Define and maintain security acceptance criteria at construction milestones and commissioning gates, and conduct acceptance events.
- Develop and execute a structured process to verify the operating company's readiness before handover, ensuring staffing, SOPs, systems, and contractual obligations are met.
- Oversee the turnover package, including as-builts, test records, and credentials, for a seamless transition to operational security.
- Rewrite DCSE's construction-security requirements, delivery processes, and acceptance frameworks based on field performance.
- Represent security in design reviews, OAC meetings, and change management processes.
- Coordinate with integrators, general contractors, and operators on security system installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Surface schedule and readiness risks early, providing options to leadership and cross-functional partners.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience delivering physical security scope on new-build data center or critical infrastructure construction projects, from design through turnover.
- Experience running milestone or commissioning acceptance processes, including FAT/SAT, punch lists, turnover documentation, and formal sign-off.
- Proven ability to hold operators, landlords, or vendors accountable to contractual security obligations.
- Comfortable making 'not ready' determinations and developing actionable plans.
- Ability to manage the operational noise of multiple concurrent construction sites and drive them to handover.
- Skill in authoring and adopting requirements, standards, and process documents, with a willingness to revise them.
- Ability to influence stakeholders, including general contractors, integrators, operators, and internal partners.
