About the Role
Lead the design work that defines how AI shows up across Rippling’s product suite, including agents, workflows, approvals, growth and adoption, trust patterns, and model design. This senior design leadership role requires managing and coaching designers while staying close to the craft, systems thinking, and product strategy for enterprise AI.
Responsibilities
- Lead Product Design for AI Platform, shaping interaction models, UX patterns, and design principles for AI experiences.
- Manage, coach, and elevate designers working in ambiguous, high-leverage platform problem spaces.
- Define reusable patterns for agents, generated UI, human-in-the-loop approvals, trust, explainability, citations, error recovery, and user control.
- Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to translate AI platform opportunities into shippable product experiences.
- Drive cross-product alignment for consistent, permission-aware, and useful AI experiences across HR, IT, Finance, workflow, and admin surfaces.
- Identify high-leverage design opportunities using customer insight, product data, competitive analysis, and team feedback.
- Create operating rituals for design reviews, pattern adoption, quality control, and cross-functional decision-making.
- Assist in attracting, evaluating, and closing senior design talent for Product Design and AI Platform.
Requirements
- 10+ years of overall product design experience, including substantial work in complex B2B, enterprise SaaS, platform, workflow, developer tools, productivity, fintech, or AI product environments.
- 3+ years of product design management experience, including managing, coaching, and developing senior designers.
- Strong systems thinking, with the ability to connect product surfaces, workflows, permissions, states, edge cases, and technical dependencies into coherent user experiences.
- Demonstrated ability to create reusable interaction patterns or design-system primitives that scale across multiple teams or product areas.
- Fluency in AI product challenges such as model uncertainty, generated output, user trust, explainability, human-in-the-loop decision-making, feedback loops, and error recovery.
- Strong cross-functional leadership with Product, Engineering, Research, GTM, CX, and executive stakeholders.
- Exceptional storytelling and communication skills; able to turn complex, multi-team decisions into crisp narratives.
- A portfolio or body of work showing shipped product impact, strong craft, and leadership through ambiguity.
