Design, build, and implement changes to Stellar Core, the distributed system maintaining Stellar's ledger and achieving global consensus. Work on features to increase network performance, decentralization, and incentive mechanics, involving formal models, verification, simulation, and scalability challenges.

Responsibilities

Design and build key components of Stellar Core.
Design and develop robust, scalable, and extensible technologies.
Collaborate on new architectures and subsystems.
Write clean, maintainable code with an emphasis on edge case analysis and future-proofing.
Own core subsystems of Stellar Core and help the team hit critical product milestones.
Collaborate on code review and design, and contribute to engineering best practices.
Investigate and refactor performance bottlenecks.
Author detailed technical feature and protocol (RFC) specifications.

Requirements

8+ years of experience developing software on a team.
BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent field.
Proficiency in writing code in modern C++ or Rust in a production environment.
Strong communication skills to advocate and lead technical discussions.
Solid understanding of software design patterns.
Knowledgeable of best practices and development tools.
Passion for technological innovation.
Passion for performance debugging and benchmarking.
Enthusiasm for working on a small, growing team with autonomy.
