About the Role
Taktile is seeking a Director of Forward Deployed Engineering to lead their NORAM FDE organization and scale the delivery of AI and decisioning solutions into production. This is a hands-on leadership role for an individual experienced in leading teams through complex enterprise deployments, acting as both a team leader and a senior technical leader on challenging customer engagements.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 15-20 FDEs in the NORAM region to ensure signed contracts are delivered in production with measurable business value.
- Own the Quarterly Go-live ARR metric for the NORAM region.
- Manage team operations including monitoring signed contracts backlog, implementation pipeline, project staffing, team capacity, and project milestones.
- Evaluate and sign off on project outcomes.
- Scale the FDE-led delivery motion by collaborating with Engineering and Product teams to build and maintain the FDE tooling library.
- Ensure flexibility, reusability, and maintainability in the FDE operating system layer.
- Advocate for team priorities with Product and Engineering leaders to secure resources for key implementations.
- Hire and develop FDEs to support business growth.
- Act as principal FDE and solution architect on complex deployments, owning enterprise, production-grade design.
- Provide technical expertise and leadership in problem-solving sessions with customer and internal engineering teams.
- Deliver product-market fit feedback, identify product gaps, and suggest enhancements to Product and Engineering.
- Engage in hands-on platform configuration, AI-agent training and evaluations, and step into delivery work as needed.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience as an Implementation Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, Solution Engineer, or equivalent in a B2B SaaS company.
- Experience leading large, multi-quarter enterprise implementations (seven-figure ARR, cross-functional teams).
- Managed a team of 5+ reports and possess the ability to grow a team.
- Proficiency in production Python and SQL.
- Fluency with REST APIs, batch data pipelines, and data-warehouse integrations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Collaborative, curious, and low-ego approach to working across product, engineering, and GTM teams.
- Genuine desire to advocate for customer success while maintaining Taktile solution and system principles.
- Ability to work from the NYC office at least three days per week.
