About the Role

The Associate Packaging Specialist defines, documents, and implements packaging solutions aligned with Nestle's packaging policy for quality, safety, and compliance. This role involves SAP packaging integration, operational improvements, and the implementation of innovative and sustainable packaging solutions to add value for patients, consumers, and customers. The Specialist will provide technical support and guidance for packaging-related projects, requiring a high degree of responsibility, cross-functional collaboration, decision-making, leadership, and self-sufficiency.

Responsibilities

• Support the integration of packaging specifications into SAP with specification creation.
• Act as a packaging subject matter expert for initiatives leading to new product introduction, increased productivity, higher quality, and improved costs.
• Recommend and lead packaging development programs to reduce distribution costs or damage and provide a competitive advantage.
• Introduce and deliver new and revised packaging concepts and processes focusing on environmental footprint, functionality, and consumer value.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality/R&D, and Sales/Marketing to manage the Material Qualification process.
• Deliver technical support for the installation and commissioning of new packaging equipment and line layout modifications.
• Provide front-line support to factories, ensuring knowledge transfer related to packaging mastership to eliminate root causes of assistance requests.
• May be assigned as a project manager on specific projects.

Requirements

• BS degree in Packaging Science/Engineering or related field.
• 0-3 years of relevant packaging industry experience in the food and beverage industry.
• Clear understanding of packaging specifications, design, materials, equipment, and systems.
• Working knowledge of project life cycle deliverables, contracts, and schedules.
• General understanding of industry standards for Regulatory Compliance and Food Safety.
• Highly motivated, critical thinker, goal-oriented, and adaptable to change.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-performing, and inclusive environment.
• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and assignments.
• Strong communication skills: interpersonal, presentation, oral, and written.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project.
• Preferred: CAPE or TOPs Palletization Program.
