About the Role
The Granite Club is seeking a seasonal Outdoor Skating Attendant to manage all aspects of the Outdoor Skating Rink, ensuring ice maintenance, supervision, and adherence to policies for member safety and enjoyment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of all members using the outdoor skating rink.
- Supervise the Outdoor Skating Rink and surrounding area, ensuring rules and procedures are followed.
- Maintain the ice and surrounding area using flooding tools, snow shovel, ice picks, snow blower, and tractor/Zamboni.
- Provide outstanding member service, embodying Granite Gold Hospitality.
- Maintain a clean environment by tidying the space around the rink.
- Offer skating technique tips to members.
- Communicate regularly with supervisory staff regarding operational enhancements.
- Report issues or concerns with the rink to the Facilities Team.
- Update the rink condition line.
- Input sign-in data and usage statistics.
- Stay up-to-date with policies and procedures.
- Punctually open and close the facility, following security procedures and departmental standards.
- Consistently present a professional image.
- Respond to and assist with on-site emergencies, incidents, and accidents, including providing First Aid, CPR, using an AED, and completing reports when necessary.
Requirements
- Strong ice skater.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Professional disposition.
- Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
- Team and service oriented, enthusiastic, co-operative, reliable, creative, and well-groomed.
- A criminal background check and vulnerable sector search demonstrating a satisfactory criminal record is required prior to employment.
