About the Role

Provides clinical and clerical support to ensure smooth daily operations in assigned medical practices. Prepares patients and examination areas for smooth patient flow.

Responsibilities

  • Greets and escorts patients, ensuring proper identification and performing clinical intake.
  • Transcribes and updates patient information, including demographics, medical history, and medication history.
  • Provides clerical and secretarial support, preparing patient charts and assisting with paperwork.
  • Performs and stays current with EMR Orders Reconciliation.
  • Maintains cleanliness and stocking of examination areas and performs environmental rounds.
  • Ensures patients are properly prepared for visits, including assisting with gowns and supplies.
  • Conducts in-office testing and coordinates external ancillary services.
  • Collects, prepares, and processes specimens, logging results and reconciling in patient records.
  • Contacts patients for follow-up, test results, or clinician instructions.
  • Maintains inventory and ensures proper upkeep of medical equipment and supplies.
  • Communicates and documents electronic messages effectively.
  • Assists in training new staff.
  • Demonstrates and maintains practice-based competencies for in-office clinical procedures.
  • Fulfills all compliance responsibilities.
  • Maintains and models organizational values.
  • Demonstrates regular, dependable, and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as required within the scope of practice.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel between practices as needed.
  • BLS Certification is required within 30 days.

Skills

  • Basic medical knowledge and terminology.
  • Data entry.
  • Skilled in obtaining accurate patient vital signs.
  • Spanish Bilingual is preferred but not required.

Experience Level

  • 1 year of MA experience OR MA or EMT certification OR 3 full years of healthcare experience including vitals, blood, rooming and patient care.
  • Minimum Experience: one year.

  • Nursing Assistant training program
  • EMT certification

Salary/Compensations

  • $18.13 - $34.50 Hourly
