About the Role
Global Transportation Services seeks a Finance Manager to support growth and gain operations finance experience. This role partners with cross-functional business and finance leaders across multiple transportation organizations, offering learning and visibility into operations. Responsibilities
- Use financial knowledge and business acumen to build financial models, interpret data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations that deliver results, drive improvements, and influence leaders globally.
- Deliver weekly/monthly financial close using financial systems and advanced MS Excel functions for large datasets, including plans, forecasts, budgets, and consolidations.
- Create effective business partnerships, manage competing priorities, and provide guidance based on data analysis during unexpected events.
- Communicate data clearly and concisely, both written and verbally, adjusting style for various audiences to articulate complex finance issues.
- Collect and analyze quantitative data to develop reports that drive cost reductions.
- Identify opportunities to resolve defects proactively and improve, scale, or simplify finance tools across teams and organizations.
- Contribute to work-life harmony by being a positive, collaborative, and effective influencer to new team members.
Requirements
- 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience.
- 5+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience.
- 5+ years of leading cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience.
- Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, and Computer Science).
- 5+ years of finance experience.
- MBA, or CPA.
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL.
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results.
