About the Role
This role is for a raw-talent hire at a fast-growing AI startup in the food retail and supply chain space. You will join a small, high-calibre team and own a significant portion of data science work from the start. The position is created due to rapid company scaling, requiring individuals who can produce at a high volume.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship production-grade data science and ML systems end-to-end.
- Utilize agentic AI coding tools daily to enhance development and output.
- Collaborate across modelling, engineering, and product in a dynamic, zero-to-one environment.
- Contribute to forecasting, optimisation, or other quantitative problem areas.
- Operate with high autonomy and accountability in a fast-paced culture.
Requirements
- Possess a quantitative degree, mathematics PhD, or equivalent rigour from a top-tier university.
- Demonstrate daily hands-on use of agentic AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor).
- Have experience as an early employee (first 15 hires) at a startup, with a proven ability to thrive in ambiguous, high-intensity environments.
- Exhibit strong raw engineering or technical ability (ML engineering, software engineering, or founding engineer backgrounds are welcome).
- Show demonstrably high output and drive, with the ability to persevere through demanding periods.
- Have 5 or more years of relevant technical experience, or exceptional early-career signal.
