About the Role
Assists in a variety of tasks in Pollution Control - Operations under the direction of a Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Assist in cleaning, operating, and servicing sludge dewatering equipment and buildings.
- Take samples as scheduled or directed.
- Use hand and power tools including wrenches, shovels, mops, brooms, paint brushes, power washer, riding lawn mower, forklift, skid steer loader, and generators.
- Handle toxic and corrosive materials such as chlorine, bleach, alum, lime, polymers, and potassium permanganate following safety procedures.
- Make minor chemical, sludge, or pulp feed adjustments as directed.
- Show other employees how to perform tasks.
- Perform related duties that are transient, of an emergency nature, or minor but recurring.
Requirements
- Must possess a valid Class "G" driver's licence.
- Some knowledge of PCP operations is required.
- Shift work may be required.
- Applicants may be required to complete a job-related test.
- The successful candidate will be required to complete a Criminal Record Check.
