About the Role
Royal Ambulance seeks an experienced Major Repair Specialist – Senior Fleet Technician to manage complex mechanical repairs, ensuring the safety and reliability of their ambulance fleet. This role is designed for a skilled technician with expertise in engines, transmissions, and diagnostics, who is eager to perform major repairs in-house.
Responsibilities
- Remove and replace engines and transmissions
- Perform full cooling system repairs including radiators, hoses, and water pumps
- Complete internal engine repairs including head gaskets and timing components
- Perform major suspension and chassis repairs as needed
- Support Journeyman Technicians on complex repairs
- Perform gurney preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs
- Adjust or replace antler rails and lock bars
Requirements
- 5+ years of automotive mechanic experience with engine and transmission removal/installation
- Extensive experience with Ford Transit, Ford E-350, and Ford E-450 vehicles
- Clean driving record
- Own tools for major mechanical repair work
- Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking
