About the Role

Establish and nurture profitable partnerships with corporate clients, acting as the bridge between the bank's offerings and clients' needs to ensure mutual benefit and long-term success. This role supports the design and leads the execution of a robust strategy to elevate market share, income, and lending balances within the UK real estate market.

Responsibilities

  • Manage client relationships to identify financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance.
  • Analyze data from investment portfolios and cash flow to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement.
  • Research and understand client industry trends, regulatory landscape, and competitive environment to inform strategic recommendations.
  • Design customized solutions addressing specific client needs and objectives using the bank's products and services.
  • Communicate the value proposition of proposed solutions and negotiate beneficial terms.
  • Provide guidance to clients on financial decisions, risk management, and wealth management strategies.
  • Assess financial, legal, and operational risks associated with client relationships and implement mitigation measures.
  • Document client interactions, transactions, and agreements for transparency and auditability.
  • Monitor client satisfaction, revenue generated, and other metrics to evaluate relationship management effectiveness.
  • Execute market research and analysis to identify new opportunities, market trends, and customer needs for business growth.
  • Manage a business function, providing input to strategic initiatives and influencing policy and procedures.
  • Lead large teams or sub-functions, managing people managers and embedding a performance culture.
  • Lead organization-wide projects and act as a deep technical expert and thought leader.
  • Train, guide, and coach less experienced specialists.
  • Provide expert advice to senior functional management to influence decisions outside of own function.
  • Manage, coordinate, and enable resourcing, budgeting, and policy creation for a significant sub-function.
  • Escalate breaches of policies/procedures appropriately.
  • Foster and guide compliance and ensure regulations are observed.
  • Monitor and influence external environments, regulators, or advocacy groups on behalf of Barclays.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of how the function integrates with the business division/Group.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of industry theories, practices, and external market developments.
  • Use interpretative thinking and advanced analytical skills to solve complex problems.
  • Exercise management authority to make significant decisions and strategic recommendations.
  • Negotiate with and influence stakeholders at a senior level, internally and externally.
  • Act as the principal contact point for key clients and counterparts.
  • Serve as a spokesperson for the function and business division.
  • Collaborate with real estate specialist bankers, business development, credit risk, portfolio, product, and marketing teams.
  • Act as an ambassador for Barclays, facing off to key real estate sector professionals, investors, advisers, and brokers.
  • Foster strong relationships to generate new opportunities and business.
  • Support a portfolio of real estate clients, driving growth and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Provide coaching and share industry insights with colleagues.
  • Ensure the highest standards of consistently excellent delivery.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of how the function integrates with the business division / Group to achieve the overall business objectives.
  • Broad and comprehensive knowledge of industry theories and practices within own discipline alongside up-to-date relevant sector / functional knowledge, and insight into external market developments / initiatives.
  • Interpretative thinking and advanced analytical skills to solve problems and design solutions in often complex/ sensitive situations.
  • Management authority to make significant decisions and certain strategic decisions or recommendations within own area.
  • Ability to negotiate with and influence stakeholders at a senior level both internally and externally.
  • Act as principal contact point for key clients and counterparts in other functions/ businesses divisions.
  • Mandated as a spokesperson for the function and business division.
