About the Role
Join our dynamic team as a Data Center Engineering Technician, playing a pivotal role in maintaining mission-critical technology infrastructure and ensuring seamless operations that power global digital experiences with an extraordinary 99.999% uptime.
Responsibilities
- Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks to include: filter changes, battery system PMs, and Rack, Diesel Generator PM's, and other preventative maintenance tasks.
- Perform root cause analysis for operational issues
- Troubleshoot facility and rack level events
- Ensure all personnel on-site follow safety protocols
- Work on-call and a rotating schedule as needed
- Take daily operational readings and provide metrics reporting to senior engineers
- Perform basic support concepts such as ticketing systems, root cause analysis, and task prioritization
- Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot Data Center Operation’s Mission Critical Facilities, including stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems, three phase electrical systems (switch gear, UPSs, PDUs, wet cell batteries), CRAC, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers/water chemical system, air handlers, pumps, & motors.
- Perform preventive maintenance on critical equipment.
Requirements
- High school or equivalent diploma
- Ability to walk job sites in uneven terrain
- Ability to work at heights and from ladders
- Ability to regularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 49 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 50 pounds or more
- Ability to carry objects weighing up to 49 pounds for short distances
- Ability to work shifts longer than eight hours in duration
- Ability to respond to off hour emergency calls
- Ability to maintain balance and perform construction tasks while on a ladder
- Ability to coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment
- Work safely and cooperatively with other employees, supervisors, and staff
- Adhere to standards of excellence despite stressful conditions
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with employees, supervisors, and staff to ensure exceptional customer service

Skills
- Data center engineering experience
- Knowledge of backup generator systems
- Knowledge of safe electrical practices according to guidelines set by relevant electrical safety supervisory bodies (e.g., ECSSAI and RECI in Ireland)
- Knowledge of mechanical systems (Mechanical, HVAC systems, Controls)
