About the Role

This position works as part of the Electric Service Support Center team, responsible for handling a high volume of customer calls and correspondence with quality, timeliness, and efficiency. Responsibilities include processing customer requests for new installations, upgrades, and removals of electric service for both residential and commercial customers via telephone, web, email, and facsimile.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain information relevant to the design and construction of service requests and respond to customer questions, including technical requirements, schedules, inspection, licensing, and easement requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and advocate for customers, contractors, and municipal officials.
  • Provide upfront cost estimates.
  • Process electrical inspections, prepayments, and contributions in aid of construction.
  • Handle non-design job types from initiation to completion.
  • Interact with various Eversource departments, including Engineering, Electric Operations, Customer Billing Services, and Remittance Services.
  • Support Engineering, Electric Operations, and other areas by updating work requests with field notes, customer appointments, and progress.
  • Work emergency storm assignments as required.
  • Respond to emergency situations to meet customer needs, which may include assignments outside of normal responsibilities, hours, and location.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks requiring initiative, sound judgment, organization, and prioritization.
  • Computer experience including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Individual must hold a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
  • Applicants will be required to successfully pass the Technician aptitude test.
  • Must be team oriented.
