About the Role
This position works as part of the Electric Service Support Center team, responsible for handling a high volume of customer calls and correspondence with quality, timeliness, and efficiency. The role involves processing customer requests for new installations, upgrades, and removals of electric service for both residential and commercial customers.
Responsibilities
- Receive and process incoming customer requests for service over the telephone, web, email, and facsimile.
- Ensure all work requests are in usable form, including complete customer information, contractor information, primary points of contact, and work descriptions.
- Interpret and implement numerous policies and procedures.
- Provide superior customer service.
- Obtain information relevant to the design and construction of service requests and respond to customer questions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and advocate for the customer, contractor, and/or municipal official(s).
- Provide applicable upfront cost estimates.
- Process electrical inspections, prepayments, and contributions in aid of construction.
- Handle certain non-design job types from customer initiation to completion.
- Interact with Eversource employees across various departments.
- Support Engineering, Electric Operations, and other areas by updating work requests with field notes, customer appointments, and progress.
- Work emergency storm assignments as required.
- Respond to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs.
Requirements
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks requiring initiative, sound judgment, organization, and prioritization.
- Computer experience including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills.
- Must be team oriented.
- Associates degree (in electrical technology or related discipline preferred) or two years of related experience required.
- Two (2) years of related experience.
- Individual must hold a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
- Applicants requiring visa sponsorship to start employment with Eversource will not be considered.
Skills
- Knowledge of the National Electric Safety Code is preferred.
- Utility and/or electrical experience is preferred.
- Storms Work Management System (including i-Scheduler) experience is desired.
- C2 experience is desired.
