About the Role
The Marker Union Square, a luxury boutique hotel in San Francisco, seeks an Assistant Housekeeping Manager to support the Executive Housekeeper in daily operations. This hands-on leadership role focuses on maintaining exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards in guest rooms and public spaces, ensuring they reflect the hotel's quality.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily housekeeping operations and ensure guest rooms and public spaces meet established standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of rooms and public areas for cleanliness, presentation, and quality.
- Monitor room assignments, daily workload, room status, and productivity.
- Assist with departmental supplies, linen, equipment, and uniform inventory.
- Collaborate with Front Office on room status, priorities, guest requests, VIPs, and needs.
- Lead, coach, train, and support Housekeeping Team Members.
- Provide hands-on support during busy periods.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and accountable team environment.
- Recognize strong performance and support team member development.
- Respond to guest requests and concerns professionally and urgently.
- Partner with Front Office and other departments to resolve room-related issues.
- Assist with VIP rooms, special occasions, and guest priorities.
- Assist with departmental reporting, payroll, scheduling, and inventory.
- Ensure adherence to housekeeping procedures, safety standards, and company policies.
- Identify and address workplace safety concerns promptly.
Requirements
- Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience required.
- Leadership experience preferred.
- Luxury or upscale hotel experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to lead, coach, and motivate a diverse team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and quality.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on hotel environment.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
