About the Role

Advance Charity is seeking two Peripatetic Independent Domestic Violence Advocates (IDVAs) to support various domestic abuse services across London. This role offers the opportunity to gain diverse experience within a supportive team, providing frontline support and ensuring consistent service delivery. The position is ideal for individuals passionate about advocating for victim/survivors of domestic abuse and comfortable working in fast-paced environments across different teams and roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide frontline support across Advance’s domestic abuse services.
  • Cover vacancies across teams to ensure service delivery remains effective and consistent.
  • Undertake advocacy and support for individuals experiencing domestic abuse.
  • Co-locate with partner agencies.
  • Deliver training.
  • Undertake triage and assessment work.
  • Provide clinical supervision for front line staff and first line management roles.

Requirements

  • Excellent understanding of domestic violence and its effects on women and children.
  • Knowledge of best practice within domestic abuse services in various areas of need.
  • Particular knowledge of safeguarding and legislation.
  • Experience working with complex and multiple needs.
  • Skilled in risk management and safety planning.
  • Ability to remain calm in a crisis.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information on a daily basis.
  • Experience of direct work with female survivors of domestic violence.
  • Experience supporting women with child safeguarding and needs.
  • Experience working within safeguarding procedures.
  • Need to adopt and promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.
  • Must submit an up-to-date CV with a supporting statement.

Salary/Compensations

  • £28,000 - £35,000 per annum
