About the Role
As a Stocking Porter on the Stewarding team, you’ll play an important behind-the-scenes role in keeping our culinary operation running smoothly. From receiving and stocking fresh ingredients to organizing coolers, freezers, and storage areas, you’ll make sure our chefs have what they need, when they need it. If you enjoy staying active, keeping things organized, and being part of a fast-paced team, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. Roll up your sleeves and help keep our kitchens moving!
Responsibilities
- Ensures products are always unloaded and brought to proper storage areas in a timely fashion.
- Delivers requisition to Chef.
- Ensures the proper rotation of product using F.I.F.O and/or according to direction of the Supervisor.
- Always maintains constant awareness of freshness dates and informs a supervisor of any discrepancies.
- Continually ensures that all storage areas (coolers/freezers/dry storage) including shelves, floors and walls are maintained at the required sanitary standards.
- Continually ensures that fresh seafood always has an appropriate amount of ice within their respected storage containers.
- Always correctly separates cardboard into correct recycling containers.
- Functions as a Steward when not engaged in unloading/stocking.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- One-year related experience is preferred.
- Reading ability; schedules, inventory dates, etc.; mathematical ability.
- Ability to operate a pallet jack.
- Must be safety oriented.
- Ability to operate a dishwashing machine and floor machines.
- Ability to lift up to 75lbs, stand for long periods of time, work in extreme temperatures; 0 to 110 degrees.
- Ability to work under extreme noise.
- Ability to speak and understand English.
- Ability to interact with guests and co-workers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule to include nights, holidays and weekends.
