About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Sales Principal to support enterprise and strategic customers throughout the pre-sales lifecycle. This individual will serve as a trusted technical advisor to CISOs and senior security leaders, translating complex cybersecurity challenges into well-architected, business-aligned solutions. The role requires broad cybersecurity domain knowledge, strong architectural expertise, confidence in 1-2 market industries, and the ability to lead technical responses to RFPs and complex proposals.
Responsibilities
- Grow the business through farming and hunting
- Engage directly with CISOs, Deputy CISOs, and senior security leaders to understand business objectives, risk tolerance, and cybersecurity maturity
- Lead strategic discussions across multiple cybersecurity towers, including Network & Cloud Security, Identity & Access Management (IAM), Endpoint & Zero Trust, Security Operations (SIEM, SOAR, XDR), Application Security & DevSecOps, Data Security & Privacy, and Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC)
- Translate technical capabilities into business outcomes, risk reduction, and ROI narratives
- Position solutions within broader enterprise security strategies and operating models
- Support account teams throughout the sales cycle, from discovery through close
- Deliver compelling presentations, workshops, and whiteboarding sessions
- Assist with proof of concepts (POCs) and technical validations when required
- Maintain strong competitive awareness and positioning
- Design end-to-end cybersecurity architectures that integrate people, process, and technology
- Map customer requirements to reference architectures, target-state designs, and roadmaps
- Evaluate and articulate trade-offs between tools, platforms, and architectural approaches
- Align solutions with industry frameworks and standards (e.g., Zero Trust, NIST, ISO, MITRE ATT&CK)
- Partner with product, engineering, and delivery teams to ensure feasibility and scalability
- Lead or significantly contribute to RFP/RFI/RFQ responses, including technical narratives, architecture diagrams, security controls mapping, assumptions, risks, and dependencies
- Tailor responses to customer specific requirements, compliance needs, and evaluation criteria
- Collaborate with sales, legal, delivery, and pricing teams to produce high-quality, on-time submissions
- Present and defend proposed solutions during customer evaluations, demos, and technical deep dives
Requirements
- 7–12+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with significant exposure to pre-sales, consulting, or solution architecture roles
- Proven experience engaging enterprise or large-mid-market customers
- Demonstrated success responding to RFPs and structured procurement processes
- Broad knowledge across multiple cybersecurity domains, not just a single specialty
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), hybrid enterprise environments, modern security architecture and Zero Trust principles
- Ability to create and explain logical, physical, and security architecture diagrams
- Exceptional ability to communicate with both technical and executive audiences
- Comfortable challenging assumptions and guiding senior stakeholders
- Strong written skills for proposals, technical documentation, and executive summaries
- Prior experience as a Cybersecurity Architect, Consultant, or Senior Sales Engineer
- Experience working with regulated industries (finance, healthcare, public sector, etc.)
- Familiarity with large-scale cybersecurity transformation programs
- Flexible and dynamic with the energy, commitment, and resilience to achieve targets in challenging and evolving business environments
- Highly credible and collaborative with the ability to influence others and a proven track record of service excellence with clients
- Ability to prioritize and organize own work and for others to deliver to agreed deadlines whilst sharing domain specialism
- Strives to improve processes and practices, considers ‘the bigger picture’, anticipates potential challenges and prepares accordingly, and adapts information and style to the audience
