About the Role
The Associate Manager is an integral part of the store management team, responsible for developing the store team and contributing to the successful implementation of strategies and operational excellence. This role ensures brand equity, customer satisfaction, and financial growth, and assumes responsibility for the store in the absence of the Store Manager.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate strong business acumen and understand organizational objectives.
- Strategically prioritize and budget in partnership with the Store Manager.
- Develop and flex store business strategies, initiatives, and growth across all categories.
- Communicate goals to the team and track store performance to meet or exceed sales and performance goals.
- Lead and participate in training for new hires and current employees on company culture, product knowledge, service practices, loss prevention, and store policies.
- Support the Store Manager through execution of performance management tools, including annual performance reviews.
- Manage minor employee relations issues and deliver formal performance feedback.
- Recruit and interview for positions underneath hierarchy and provide recommendations for new hires.
- Make hiring, pay, and termination decisions for positions underneath hierarchy.
- Understand and comply with all company policies, procedures, and programs.
- Manage and hold others accountable for operational results in store procedures, payroll management, store schedules, cash handling, and inventory control.
- Monitor and adapt to business conditions based on weekly and monthly sales.
- Lead and execute floor changes, sales, and promotional events timely.
- Perform and supervise store opening and closing procedures.
- Provide effective leadership and delegate responsibilities to ensure all required store tasks are completed.
- Direct the store team in prioritizing responsibilities and ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Communicate effectively with the management team to align and drive business strategy.
- Create an environment that encourages engagement and change management.
- Supervise the store team in the absence of another member of management.
- Create a high-energy, compelling store experience by engaging consumers and modeling appropriate service behaviors.
- Supervise and provide consistent coaching on sales training processes.
- Proactively resolve consumer concerns in a manner consistent with company policy and consumer satisfaction.
- Partner with store management on elevated consumer issues.
- Maintain interior and exterior upkeep of the building.
- Communicate and train on how new processes enable consumer experience, improve operations, and boost store and company performance.
- Ensure required store tasks are completed timely and effectively by personally contributing and giving direction to other team members.
Requirements

- While performing the duties of the job the employee may be required to stand, walk, kneel, squat, crouch, bend, stoop, talk and hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, to type, reach overhead, and climb ladders.

- 5+ years progressive retail leadership experience.
- 3+ years of proven experience in a store management position.
