About the Role
Summer Associates work in the Global Markets Group of BMO Capital Markets, gaining hands-on experience across various desks including Equity Sales and Trading, Clearpool E-trading, and more. The 10-week program includes onboarding, training, professional development activities, and networking events.
Responsibilities
- Development and deployment of business solutions such as pricing and risk models
- Market data capture and display, spreadsheet development
- Providing insight into trading strategies leveraging quantitative modelling
- Improving on existing technology involving system infrastructure, internal reporting, client/management presentations, etc.
- Bespoke projects requiring market, portfolio, or client research and data analytics
- Developing client trade ideas
Requirements
- Pursuing a Master's in Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Financial Math, Physics, Statistics, Engineering, Quantitative Finance, Computer Science, or other related quantitative field.
- Completing degree in December 2027 or Spring 2028
- Excellent programming skills in C++, Java, Matlab, Python, R or Scala.
- Strong mathematical academic training.
- Keen interest in financial markets.
- Drive and desire to work in an intense team-oriented environment.
- Excellent decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication skills.
